How often do you DTD

Now that AF is over DH and I were talking TTC. Before loss he was just kinda along for the ride now he is taking a more active role. He has graciously offered to check my CM daily. lol So in discussing this he thinks we need to BD every day twice a day to be safe. I told him no... I read once every 24 hours to get the "Best" product from him. While he appreciates my input he instructed me to consult you ladies.

The greatest thing about this is I was able to explain it and he explained it back to me in guys language....Esentially we are a football team. I'm the head coach, TTC is the game, the bump ladies are the fans, FF is my playbook, and he is special teams. The goal is to get the footbal (my egg) to the endzone at the right time like fourth and goal.

Can I just say I love this post!! This is great. Might make DH read this. He maybe able to relate with all the football terms.

I think it is great that YH will check you CM for you daily! So funny.

I don't have any suggestions because I am still TTA but I agree with the most once every 24 hours. I have also heard every other day is good too. GL

My DH will run from a room at any mention of CM, even after almost three years of TTC. I'm a little jealous.

Our sex schedule is usually EOD from the time AF leaves until O is confirmed... This cycle has been a little more free-form, and unscheduled though.

We did everyday for 3-4 days once we got a +OPK.

We are NTNP right now but we're averaging about EOD. Last cycle we got pregnant, we were EOD and then ED after opk. And your DH is funny!

I think that I am working my way towards the FWP award haha I have no effing idea what is going on with my body right now, so we just keep doing it. See chart below. And I'm sure there is at least one time on there that isn't recorded. I don't want to miss O and this FW seems to just keep going and going lol

I love the football terms! Big Smile

We DTD 1-2x a day (prior to TTC it was 2-3x a day)... however a few days before, during, and after FW we DTD 1x a day and occasionally we'll miss a day and make it every other day (but that only happens 2-3 x a month). Sperm needs time to build up, so my dr didn't advise any more than 1x a day, mainly during FW.

It's good to explain things to DH. I let my DH know that there's only a 20% chance of conception each month when the couple is perfectly healthy and has perfect timing. He was extremely surprised. I can't believe he didn't know that, especially given that he has two daughters.

LOVE IT! Great analogy - tell him I might have to steal it to use on my DH when he's not understanding!!! I'll totally give him credit! DH and I are kind of sporadic, but we try to do once a day around the O day... I think this time around maybe we'll go every other until I get the positive OPK and then everyday until I get CH - someone said they do that and it sounded like a great plan!

Also, hysterical! My visualization of my own football game includes a bunch of kids on a pee-wee football team running in all the wrong directions, picking their noses, fumbling the ball, and on a baseball field instead of a football field ;P

I'm just glad that at least he understands it, no matter what analogy he has to use !!!

I don't think I've ever discussed cm with dh, he would probably ignore it anyways. DH does insert my progesterone suppositories for me, he was creeped out by it the first couple of times, but now he doesn't even say anything about it, he's all like is your vag ready for her meds yet? LMAO. Men.

I declined the offer to check my CM, he couldn't promise to do it without getting distracted. I told him only if I need a second opinion.

My OB told me to do it EOD, which is what we have always done. If I get a +opk, we do it that day too, even if we just did it the day before.

I am currently TTA and before this DH and I were pretty much just NTNP so I don't have any advice. But I mostly wanted to say I love the football analogy haha!

I actually really like every 36 hours keeps him on his toes. We're trying ED this cycle... But have needed a break here and there. Twice a day is too much, you need to give time to give the players a time out to rest and regroup.

In my last 2 pregnancies we BD everyday for the 5 days sounding my FW. I think it was the 3 days before, the O date and the day after. Our plan is to do the same thing. It will prob be 5-6days. We could do EOD until then, but my FW starts Sat and my spotting is just ending today. So We probably will once before my window opens. Thursday probably just for good measure Stick out tongue

You ladies are the best. When ttc we do 2-3 times a week then when I get a +OPK every 24 hours for 3 to 4 days. This will be my first month seriously temping, and checking cm so we will see what happens.

I am not ttc just yet but when were were ttc before our m/c my dr said every other day for most people because sperm counts are typically higher and the sperm can live in us for a few days.

Your husbands football references made me laugh and I shared the story with my husband who is a football crazy also.

We pretty much do EOD.

However, I'm praying for my BFP this cycle because this has wore me out! Lol
