I think it is time...

I think DD might be teething. I know, I know there is plenty of posts about this subject but I don't what to do :[ so fussy at random times, pulling her ears, chewing on her fingers like crazy, her bottom gums are swollen. When she was fussy earlier I took my finger and applied some pressure and she seemed so relieved.

Teething tablets? Orajel? Cold wash cloth? Do babies do the whole pulling ears thing when teething? No fever and not tired. Help!

Re: I think it is time...

  • We knew she was teething, not just from the drooling but because when you look in her mouth you can see the white marks in her gums. We use the Orajel for Bella and when it's really bad the Dr said we can use Tylenol. We tried the frozen teething rings but she doesn't like them, though I've heard lots of good things about them. Her hands are her new best friend and she chews them alot! It's so hard to know she's in pain and we can't help! :(

    Good luck!

  • I know my pedi warns against orajel because it contains a mild sedative which can be harmful. I found that the refrigerated teething rings are better than the frozen ones.

  • I just heard this frOm another mom and I thought it was brilliant. Take a wash cloth and cut it up and dip it in diluted camomile tea or breast milk and then freeze or refrigerate it, then put it in one of those mesh feeders so she can suck on it but not have her or your hands freeze. Also hylands makes natural teething tablets and gel.

  • Boiron Camilia is natural and always helped Ds1.

I used to wet and wring out the end of a cloth and tie it in a knot and stick it in the fridge for a while. Then let lo suck on it.
