Hi Everyone,
my 1st preganancy was a C-Section (planned) due to finding out she was Breech. I had a very positive Csection and was going to opt for a selective 2nd C-Section.
I recently just found out I have Placenta Previa and if it doesn't move (chances are it can but they don't know) I will have to have another Csection (no choice). Which i'm fine with since I was planning on one anyways.
Question - Has anyone here had a C-section due to Placenta Previa before? If so at how many weeks did you have your C-section? Right now, mine is scheduled at 39 weeks. but now with the Placenta thing I was wondering if it was going to get moved up due to this.
Anyone? Thanks ladies!
Re: CSection due to Placenta Previa?
It really depends on your previa, if it's a complete or a partial. Mine is a complete and has been a complete. I however have had 7 bleeds and have been on HBR since 24 weeks (32w2d today). Because the bleed I had this morning was so bad the next bleed they will just be delivering me.
Now like you said many previas do move, my situation is not the norm. But in my situation I will be being delivered early.

Mine, as of now, is a complete Previa. I'm anxious to talk to my OB on Friday at our apointment and get some answers. Hopefully it will move though...the thought of 37 weeks...seems so early!
When did any bleeding start for you ladies before putting you on bedrest?
I had complete previa for a huge chunk of this pregnancy. Thank god it has finally moved. BUT the plan was a 37 week c/s (if no bleeding issues) if it didn't clear up. The fear was going into labor on my own.
I had complete previa with my daughter. It was discovered at 18weeks. I had a bleed at 31weeks, was in the hospital for 3 days, and got sent home on bedrest. My drs plan was to do a c section at 39weeks(she's very conservative and wanted to wait as long as possible). The dr I saw while in the hospital said that if I was his patient he would do an amnio at 37weeks and deliver then. I ended up having her at 36weeks due to preterm labor and some other suspected complications.
She was 5lbs6oz and perfect. No NICU time and she was discharged when I was. Good luck to you!
