Sheets for boy's bed

We recently switched my son into a big bed. I am having trouble finding 'fun' sheets for his bed. He loves trains, and I would like to get sheets with trains, trucks, etc., but the only ones I am finding are too expensive (pottery barn) or have bad review for being too scratchy. Anyone have a recommendation for sheets for boys that are reasonably priced and good quality? Or do I splurge for the expensive sheets?

  • We have these from Olive Kids for DS1.  He loves them.  I found them for cheaper on eBay but still brand new.

  • We did PBK sheets even though I about choked on the price. There aren't many options if you need queen size. Quality is good

  • I just purchased a set off of pottery barn on Monday when they had the free shipping.  So even though I about died spending what I did on sheets, I saved the $17 shipping cost.  We haven't transitioned my son yet, but most likely will in the spring, so I'm slowly starting to buy stuff for his room.  Like PP we are also transitioning into a queen so the options aren't as great as if we were doing a toddler bed.

I was ready to purchase that set, but read reviews that said they were very scratchy. What do you think?

  • We got cute airplanes at Home Goods.  Marshalls and TJMax frequently have them, too.  I have been very impressed with the quality after washing and price ($20).

I also found cute flannels at Kohls with sock monkeys!
