hit me in the face if this is a stupid question...

but where does round ligament pain hurt??

?

is it everywhere just cause of the changes in your body shape..stretching out and what not???

is it only in your abdomen or can it be in your side and back too??

?

?

i'll go to 1st tri for 10 minutes time out if the question was dumb....i googled it and all it talked about was the pain being abnormal (ya think?)?

  • ::slap slap slap:: but only for the fun of it. Not because you're dumb. ;)

For me it's in the abs and down to the crotch. Hooha pain as my friend calls it

  • well, it's the ligaments that hold your uterus in place stretching out, so it would hurt in your lower abdomen.  I don't know if that's what I had earlier today or not, but that's my understanding.  You read that it's abnormal?

i read that it will feel abnormal...which i thought was kind of a given

  • Mine is pretty classic RLP.  It starts as a sharp pain when I stand up too fast from a sitting position.  The pain is to the left or right of my lower abdomen, in the hip-socket area.  Then it spreads a bit upwards, in the same location where your bikini line would go if you are wearing a bikini bottom, up around the top of my hip area.  It aches for a while, but RLP is pretty temporary and eventually subsides.

I also have backaches, but it's a separate problem than RLP.

oh! ok that makes sense.  If what I had today was RLP it can be pretty damn painful.  It was similar to what Heather described but rather severe.

  • The round ligaments go from the sides of the tops of the uterus (just under the fallopian tubes) down to the labia majora on either side.  So, stretching can hurt/ache anywhere along that path.  Mine usually hurt right in my crotch.
