Sorry I was trying to copy and paste but couldn't get it to work.
I'm wondering if you ladies can help me. I'm trying to figure out if I need to find the girls a pediatrician before they are born and if so how do I go about doing this? Can someone share their experience on finding one for their twins? Did you meet with different ones before you picked the one you wanted to stay with? How did you decided? Do you look for someone who has experience with twins or is that not a big concern? Any suggestions would be great!
Thank you!!
Re: Pediatricians
Also, check out how easy it is to get into the office (physically, and scheduling apptmts), as well as hours and after hours care. We went to talk to one dr. and were happy with that practice. They also have separate sick kid, well kid and newborn wait areas which is nice. Do you have a local MoMs group? That can also be a good place to get recs.

I asked my multiples club for suggestions- they suggested two practices. I checked with my insurance, both accepted our plan. Then I did some internet research- looked at their websites and other sites with evaluations. I looked at hours, emergency visits, locations, and what hospitals in our area that they had rights at. I chose the practice that had doctors that had neonatal experience- which turned out well since my guys were preemies. As for the twin thing- it wasn't a big deal since each child is different and have different medical needs.
Oh and you should pick a pedi before delivery- but my hospital has peditricians on staff to see those kiddos that their future pedi does not have rights at that hospital.
My twins were in the NICU for a month and thier pedi stopped in to check on them ever couple of days which was awesome of them since they were new patients and they did not bill for the visits.

Thank you so much ladies! I will look around for one before they are born. The problem with asking my ob is that I'm delivering an hour and a half away because that hospital has a NICU. So my ob isn't from where I live. I also don't have anyone to ask for recommendations so I'm in a bad spot there as well. Looks like internet searching and meetings will have to do.
Thank you all once again. Your replies have helped me out quite a bit.
You do not have to select your Pediatrician before the twins are born, but it is a good idea. If you do not have one selected, the hospital will have them examined by whoever is next in their rotation or whoever is in the hospital on the morning your twins are born.
I asked friends for referrals and researched their choices to see if I felt a connection to any of them. There was one I kept coming back to and I found their website to be very thorough and informative. I also liked his credentials and the fact that he was a twin dad. I asked my OB for a referral and she gave me a card to his practice so I called and made a prenatal consultation appointment.
I didn't really have a lot of questions for him as everything I needed to know about the office and their policies and practices were on their website. I just wanted to meet him in person.
