i am researching home births and wondering if anyone here has so real life experience. i have a midwife and she is all about educated decisions so she isn't pushing me one way or another but there is something really appealing about being in my own home with my family you know?
Re: home birth
This.
Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!
This as well.
Yep, I had one too. My husband was concerned initially about how safe it would be, but the midwife answered all this questions and he became more comfortable with it as we learned more. I was a little concerned at first about "what People would think and say" but once I worked through that, I didn't look back.
It was great being at home in my own environment during and after the birth, not having to travel during labor, not having to be worried about questionable hospital policies or staff. We'd definitely do it again.
Midwives definitely do not have superhero complexes. If something goes wrong, they ship you off to a hospital! They do not take risks with lives. They're excellent peoples.
