I had the Mirena for a whopping 6 weeks. I constantly worried about it messing up my body, but sometimes I wish I would have just left it in.
Today I saw a commercial, you know the kind...The kind of commercial where a serious voice talks about the dangers of Mirena and then says "If Mirena has done this to you, the manufacturer could be liable"
Anyone worried about the Mirena? I was thinking about getting the Paraguard because it's hormone free, but I am not so sure. Anyone have the Paraguard? How how it been for you?

Re: Anyone worried about their Mirena?
I had it and it migrated out of my uterus and into my omentum (apparently this big thing that collects waste up behind our ribs.) I had to have it surgically removed after being in constant pain like I had a bad side cramp for 4 months. They kept telling me there was no way it was iud related
Besides the fact I was also having unprotected sex all that time.
I am that person the commercial is talking about. And another lady in my baby swim class had the same thing happen.
Ah! I am sorry that happened to you! That's awful! Was this before or after your children?
That was another thing...I was convinced that I was pregnant the.entire.time. ha
I had it put in 8 weeks after having Logan (DS1). I had always used the nuvaring before having kids. Now DH had a vasectomy so I am off the hook
Oh good, so it didn't effect your fertility. I think when we're done hubs is getting a vasectomy....jk there is no way he would do that. (:
I didn't think mine would either so years ago I started talking about what a wimp my Dad was for not going through with his and how only a REAL man is secure enough with his masculinity to do it. I put these things in his head for a few years until we were done and now he is all proud and tells EVERYONE that he did it! Haha, men are SO easy
Haha! This made me LOL. How great!
