I've had both. Doesn't make a difference in your scar. You'll heal the way you heal. I had a keloid after the first 2 c-sections, but don't after the last 2........

I'm pretty sure you didn't only have steri strips. Are you sure you didn't have stiches with steri strips? FWIW I had dissolvable stiches that you couldn't see and didn't have to get taken out.

I had stitches with steristrips but ripped that open vomiting. So they stapled half of me closed. Left half had staples exterior and right side was stitches inside and steristrips. Staples were removed when I left the hospital and steristrips everywhere to keep me closed!

It was not pretty... They did the staples with no extra pain relievers or numbing agents. They kept saying "one more" and I wanted to punch them. I think I ended with 7 staples.

No, I even asked my OB. No glue, nothing external...just internal stitches and steri strips.

Hunh. I can't imagine steri strips holding together the dermis long enough or well enough.

It didn't. I had spots bust open 2x and infections as well. And my OB's practice wonders why they have so many incision issues...

I had steri strips with interal dissolvable stitches. I was told to keep the steri strips on until they started peeling off. Around 2 weeks PP one side of the steri strips were peeling off so i tried to take all of them off and the right side of my cut wasnt healed yet so those stayed on until about 3.5 weeks. Never had any tearing open problems or anything and Im not going to lie was was doing a little more than recommended before 6 weeks.

i had both too - inside stiches and outside staples. they took my staples out before i left the hospital and i didn't feel a thing. (well it actually only felt like tweezing an eyebrow but a little duller cause it's pretty numb still down there)
With my first, I had glue with steri strips. With my 2nd and 3rd, I had staples (OB's preference) and they were fine. I had initially asked for stitches with #2, but as my OB started to staple, he stopped and told me he had accidentally started to staple. I just told him to keep going. In the end, it was perfectly fine and I didn't care either way with my third.
I had staples and stitches so maybe I should have picked SS.
When they took my staples out, they found 2 blood clots at the incision. So I was reopened in those 2 places for 2 weeks and then eventually stitched back up. I scar terribly anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered.
I had staples for both c-sections. I didn't mind them, thought something was wrong but dismissed it. When I went to the doctor to get them out (after DS was born) we found out I was allergic to surgical staples. I felt dumb, and thought that is why it felt like it was burning.
i got staples and it was not so bad really, u can't even see my scar anymore once my staples were out i put coco butter on it and it made it easier not to see my scar so much

From what I understand, the internal stitches are what's holding the skin closed. It's not just the steri strips. It's a specific technique where they can suture the skin closed but leave the stitches inside instead of outside. My husband tried to explain it to me (he's an ER doctor), but I didn't fully understand how it works. But your skin was almost definitely being held closed by stitches, they were just underneath instead of on top.
I had internal stitches and a clear bandage over top, so no stitches or staples on the outside of my skin, but definitely stitches under the skin that held it closed.
