Britax

My husband and I purchased the B-Agile stroller yesterday and attached our britax car seat to it to test it out.

I was reading the instructions & i noticed it said that when you have the infant seat on attached to the stroller, you have to lock the front wheel so it doesn't swivel (it says it on the stroller also)

my question is why? it makes me think it's unsafe that the wheel has to be locked. & makes me not want to use the infant seat in the stroller. maybe i'm just being paranoid.

the stroller wont be able to make turns unless we lift it up and turn it ourselves.

has anyone seen this warning & not locked the wheel?

thanks.

Re: Britax

  • I haven't seen the warning but from what I understand is they probably want you to lock the wheels before placing carseat with baby in to make sure the stroller is secure and doesn't move while doing so and harm the baby. It probably means once your carsreat is locked into the stroller you can unlock the wheels.

This. I also believe that if you are using it to jog with, the wheel has to be locked so it doesn't go back and forth quickly and then flip. That happened to one of my friends, while she was running, she wasn't using a Britax stroller though.

Yes to the bolded, it's so the stroller doesn't move while you're installing it. Uh, and it's not so that you can jog with it. Yes, jogging mode on jogging strollers usually means that you lock the front wheel on swivel wheel joggers, but B-Agile is so not a jogging stroller. At all.
  • We only lock the wheel when we put the seat on then we unlock it.
