Hi ladies!! Sorry it's taken me so long to pass along an update. The last 24 hours have been a blur. Short version, H is doing wonderfully and we get to go home today!! The surgeon did an incredible job and we're thrilled with the results!
Long version, we got here at 9 for 11am surgery time. We had already been bumped from our 730am slot due to some insurance issues, thank you Obamacare. By 11 they still didn't have things worked out and they didn't end up taking him back until 1:30. Poor thing hadn't eaten since 7am. Then came the longest 3 hours of my life. We didn't have service in the surgery center so I couldn't even bump to pass the time. After what seemed like a lifetime, the doctor came out and gave us the incredible news that H had been moved to the PICU and was doing great! I think I cried for the next two hours straight. Seeing his new face was one if the most emotional experiences of my life. Elated for the beautiful new smile Dr. Baker has given him, but also mourning the loss of the smile I'd fallen in love with. Seeing him in pain also breaks my heart.
Last night was up and down, but he's a whole new baby this morning and they're discharging us in the next few hours. He's relearning how to take a bottle and doing great. I couldn't be more proud of my courageous little boy.
I will post some pics when I get home and can get on a real computer. So excited to share his new smile with everyone!!! Thanks again for all your kind words and support :
Eta, bump mobile ate most of my punctuation. Sorry!

This is such a touching story. I can just imagine the emotions you are having of seeing your sweet boy with his new smile and reminising his old one that you grew to love so much. You are such a strong momma! I am so glad to hear everything went well!

So happy that the surgery went well, and that he's doing wonderfully! I'll bet you can't wait to get him home though! What an emotional experience this must be for you--you are a strong momma!
Thanks for the update. The new smile must be the most beautiful sight in the world. As difficult as it is for a LO to undergo surgery, they bounce back from anesthesia much quicker than adults and older children.
