NBR: stepson visiting SD

DH's 17 year old son is visiting us right now and I would like to take him to do something fun in the area, or at least get out of the house and go somewhere, because I know there are so many beautiful parts of SD.  DH and I just moved to San Marcos from south OC, so while I know some spots, I thought maybe you local ladies might have a few suggestions for me as well.  :)  Not the zoo, Sea World, etc. this time - not enough $ for those right now.  TIA!  Going to look into Mission Bay for starters...

    Check out family magazine. It's free and usually at the library, dr office, etc. Balboa park has free museums every Tuesday. It rotates every week. Old Town is another good place to go walk around. Julian is fun too. There is a cool skate park at Robb field in point Loma. You could also hike mission Trails or cowles mountain. Have fun!

    You can do Seaport Village/the Midway for next to nothing... At 17 he might also enjoy a restaurant like Dicks Last Resort after?
