DS is doing great, our easy child at the moment. The green poops seem to have resolved. He still has a stuffy nose from this cold we all have that just.won't.leave, but he's a trooper and is still happy and smiley.
He has started grasping things more, watches me when I walk around the room, and makes lots of noises like ya-goo and ngaa. His super-fast weight gain has slowed down a bit, but he is starting to bust out of his 6-month onesies and sleepers.
GTKY: On Christmas eve we would sit around the tree and open one present each. Somehow that was always the best one.

Any challenges this week? Milestones? Funny stories? My DS is turning three weeks old tomorrow He's been really gassy this week, so we've had to take breaks during feedings, and burping him more often. He's not crying much or anything like that - but he wakes up more often now from the gas. It has helped to switch to a sensitive brand formula ~
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday memory from your childhood? My parents always decorated the inside of the house like crazy. It really was a winter wonderland. We'd have garlands over all the railings. Fresh cookies decorated for Christmas on every table. Manger scene/Nutcrackers in just about every corner. It really was over-the-top, but I LOVED it! Can't wait to go crazy with our own house next year

Challenges: DH! WTF we were going to have W circumcised Wednesday. But well DH is having second thoughts. So for now we are going to reschedule and possible cancel. I need help. I made up my mind that I want to do it. But I can't do something life changing for our son on my mind alone. FML!
Milestone my 5 week old can roll over from belly to back whenever he wants. He smiles at me DH big SIS and the Christmas tree.
Fav christmas memory... Going to pick and cut down our tree. My mom, brothers, step dad and me would all pile into our minivan drive for an hour out to the one tree farm in the area. Go walking up and down the rows and pick one out then we would take turns cutting the bottom till it fell over. Then we get cider and hot chocolate back at the tree farm base while the tree was wrapped up and tied to our car. It's the one time of the year we never fought. [ great now I am crying because we can't ever do this again as my step dad has ALS and can't walk the rows with us and my brothers are a teenage boy and early twenty pre man who have better things to do] I am going to miss this tradition most of all.
Any challenges this week? Milestones? Funny stories? He will be 15 weeks tomorrow and this morning my little piglet weighed 15.4 lbs! DS has been waking more often during the night. I guess I should have known it was too good to be true when he was sleeping from 9-430 for almost three weeks in a row. Lately he has gone back to every 3-4 hours at night. I was hoping it was just a growth spurt, but it has been going on for two weeks. Grrr.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday memory from your childhood? On Christmas eve we always put a table cloth on the coffee table and got out the good china. My mom would make a whole dinner of appetizer sized bites of everyones favorite dishes. Then we would sit on the floor around the table by the fire and share everyone's favorites together.

Any challenges this week? Last week my challenge was sleep for dd and this week I am still working on that. I think we got a little spoiled because although she is not a good napper, I can usually get her to go down for at least one long nap around 1-3 hours. Last week it was a fight to get her to nap even 20 minutes so I decided to get help and am reading Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. I feel like it is already helping me. DD's night sleep has been off to over the last week, I think she hit 4 month wakeful a little early maybe, I'm not really sure though. She always used to go right down to sleep for the night between 8 and 9 and would sleep for around 8 hours. Now she is waking a few times, but thankfully seems to finally settle and sleep for 5-6 hours. Last night she was so cranky so I rocked her while holding her stomach down, and she fell asleep around 7:30 and slept til 6!
Milestones? No milestones to report.
Funny stories? This weekend I put up most of the Christmas decorations and DD was watching me in her bouncy seat. I was showing her all of the decorations to play music or have bells, and she was loving it. I have this Mickey Mouse Christmas door hanger and it has bells on it. I shook it so she could hear it and she laughed, so I set it down next to her and turned around to continue to decorate. I turn around a minute or so later and she is holding the Mickey door hanger and is sucking on Mickey Mouse's ear! It was so cute, I grabbed my camera and took a quick pic.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday memory from your childhood? Christmas morning, the anticipation of coming downstairs and grabbing our stockings and opening up our presents. Then having breakfast with my family, we always had kielbasa and ham, yum!

Hi everyone!
G is beginning to laugh...just one little giggle sound at a time, but it makes me melt :]
I've been stressed lately. Maybe overwhelmed is more accurate. I just feel like I work 24 hours a day and DH just gets to watch ESPN all weekend. I go back to work next week for 3 to 4 hours a day, and I don't know how anything will get done around the house. So, I've been grumpy to my family lately. I need to chill out.
My favorite Christmas memory is when we'd go to Christmas in the Park, then drive around looking at lights. Picking out our tree was always fun too!

Challenges- he used to be a great night sleeper but around 11weeks that changed. We are STILL working on it I decided that since he is waking up more at night now (possible 4 month wakefuls) that I should just transition him to the crib now too. So far he's doing pretty good.
Milestones- we now have real full on belly laughs! It's so cute! He mastered belly to back rolls early and now he can almost go from back to belly he gets stuck on his arm oh and I'm pretty sure he is teething. I "think" I can see a white line on his gums and his cheeks are pink all the time now.
Funny story- He has mastered pulling my hair. The other night after bath he was laying on the bath mat and I was drying him off. Well he grabbed my hair and pulled my head down, he almost peed in my face. All I could do was laugh.
GTKY- I used to love going to my grandmas and helping her make cookies and Christmas dinner
Challenges: this weekend was hard because I got sick and had to stay away from DD. Luckily MIL was here to help DH but DD was a crank-butt and hearing her crying hard was tough on me because I couldn't snuggle her to make it better.
Milestones: She rolled belly to back on Turkey Day but I think it was a fluke because MIL put her down for tummy time just right - arm in the right position and she was already partly on her side/not flush on her tummy. She hasn't repeated it since.
GTKY: Christmas Eve at my grandma's house. We'd eat, exchange gifts with my uncles & cousins and have a good time. All my grandparents passed before DD was born so she'll never know them. She only has 2 great grandparents living on DH's side of the family.
Challenges: I had surgery 10 days ago and just started being able to pick up LO a few days ago...it was hard to rely on others to hand her to me, particularly when she was screaming her head off and I couldn't pick her up and comfort her.
Oh, hope you're recovering really well! And Iove that your DD spit out the turkey bits

DD has been a fab sleeper since about 7 weeks (usually 10 or so hours), but after she hit her 3 month growth spurt she's started to wake again at 4, and 5, and 6 a.m. She doesn't really need anything, she just wakes up and babbles to herself *really loudly* until I give her a pacifier or nurse her or just confirm for her that yes, we're here, and yes, we hear her! DH wants to transition her to her crib (she's in her PnP in our room), and while I know it would be best, I'm just so anxious about it. And I honestly don't know that it will help *me* to sleep any better.
As for milestones, DD laughed today! She's extremely vocal, but this is the one thing we've yet to hear from her. But I got an honest to goodness baby chuckle this afternoon, so here's hoping it's the first of many!
GTKY: My parents always used to put us to bed early-ish and I feel like I never, ever slept, even after I knew Santa Claus wasn't real. My brother and I always stayed up really, really late singing Christmas carols to each other, and though we eventually passed out, he would wake me up around 4 a.m. and we would sneak out just to look at the presents under the tree and wish it were morning already!
Challenges: not any of note. DS is such an easy and chill baby. A complete 180 from DD. now if we were talking about challenges with DD (the toddler), I have laundry list. Really my only challenges are that if he poops in his carseat, it results in a diaper blowout (up his back). It only happens in the carseat. Weird.
Milestones: last night I got a 6 hour stretch, and tonight I got a 5 hour stretch. Cue the angels singing. I woke up to super leaky boobs (I've been putting hand towels in my shirt because breasts pads just don't abosirb enough leaking), but I'll take sleep over sleeping in dryness.
Challenges: Sleep. Ever since Thanksgiving L has been sleeping really poorly. She's been waking 3 times a night and wants to eat all.night.long. She'll wake up, eat, fall asleep on the boob, but when I go to put her back in her crib she wakes up and realizes that she's hungry again. Friday was also one heck if a day. All she did was eat, sleep, and scream. This is one major growth spurt we're dealing with here!!
Milestones: L started solid food on Saturday! She's been very interested in watching DH and I eat, so I figured it was about time. She had sweet potatoes and didn't love them, but didn't hate them either. We're going to do two more days of sweet potatoes and then move on to peas. I'm really loving my Babby Bullet!
GTKY: My favorite memory of Christmas is of my family's 12 days of Christmas stocking exchange. Each night for the 12 days leading up to Christmas we'd gather as a family and sing carols and do Christmassy things like bake cookies or read a Christmas story and everyone would get a little something in their stocking. It was a lot of fun!
