Thanksgiving & BF

DS is EBF, and the two days after Thanksgiving he was a very fussy feeder and just plain wouldn't eat a few times. I am wondering if maybe I ate something that didn't agree with him (though it could also have been the travel or something else completely unrelated that caused it).

I think the only things I ate that I hadn't had in awhile were cranberries and sage in the stuffing. I have since read that sage might decrease supply, but I didn't have very much and I still felt like I had milk for him. I was uncomfortably full when he didn't eat. So I don't think it was a supply issue, but maybe a taste issue...

Did any of you have feeding issues after Thanksgiving dinner? What new/unusual things had you eaten?

Re: Thanksgiving & BF

  • I did not have any issues, and the only thing different than the "norm" was the wine... My husband does not drink so I had not opened a bottle since last year.

  • I don't eat turkey any other time of year. We had Thanksgiving lunch and dinner,Friday I had turkey sandwiches for lunch and dinner, another Thanksgiving lunch at my mom's Saturday. Saturday night DS started having diarrhea. I didn't have any turkey today and he hasn't had any diarrhea since noon.

  • My DD was very gassy for two days following Thanksgiving.  I definitely ate a lot out of the norm, so I'm hoping it's calmed down now.  Is it bad that I want to pump and dump so I can eat some pie and ice cream without worrying? (DD can't handle it when I eat dairy)
