Today I got my third Beta done. I thought they look fine, but the nurse was arguing with me and wants me to go in ASAP. (Which will probably be next week) With my last pregnancy, a blighted ovum was discovered at 11 weeks. I wanted an earlier ultrasound this time anyway, but her attitude as made me all upset.
I can't even talk to my doctor, I have to go through this nurse.
1545 @ 4 weeks, 3 days
7141 @ 5 weeks, 0 days
37,000 @ 6 weeks, 0 days
Most places on the internet say that doubling rates are longer once you hit 6000. According to everything I have read online, I am right on schedule. This nurse claims you double every 2 days until the 10th week.
Re: Freaked out! Do these betas look good to you?
Those numbers sound great. Although you might be able to manipulate the nurse into getting you an earlier u/s which is something my pgal mind would want.
Good luck!!

I love my rainbow baby!
Your numbers look great to me- when I m/c back in April my first was 250, and the nurse said she wanted it to be at 1000 before they brought me in for an ultrasound. Two days later they had dropped to 78 so there was no need, but when I got another BFP two months later I went into an urgent care clinic and had them draw my betas since I had no idea what the timing was (I had a normal period the week before so PgAL brain was jumping to doomsday). They came back 750, I called my OB Monday and she had me come in for betas that day and they came back at 2,500, but she waited a week and a half to book my ultrasound. I was kinda irked since the last time they said 1000, but I didn't argue... Anyway, the next week I went and they dated the PG to 6 weeks exactly-
Sorry she didn't give you the reaction you were looking for- sometimes the nurses forget our history and lump us into the normal pregnancy group that shouldn't have any concerns. FX for a H&H9!!

Thank you ladies so much for your assurance. I was able to see my doctor today. He agree that the nurse didn't know what she was talking about, but admitted, the nurses usually don't handle high hcg levels. (so she might have got the doubling rate confused.) Good thing I spend the previous night bawling.
He offered me an ultrasound the spot. Oh yeah I accepted! I know that there was a good chance we couldn't see a heartbeat, but anything would be better than the emptiness we saw last time. He seemed to look a while before turning it for us to see. He started off with showing my where my bladder was. Groan, who really cares, is there a baby?!? I then saw the ring that indicated a yoke sac, then a tiny cluster of white. It wasn't an empty womb! I started sobbing right then and there, which in turn caused the prob to jump around. He got my attention again and asked me to look at the flickering. I got to see a heartbeat!!
We been trying to have a baby for 4 years. DH has a very slight decreased motility, but otherwise our infertility has been unexplained. Losing my only pregnancy in three years was devastating. But it has shown me I can never take anything for granted. I will treasure that moment of seeing that little flicker for the rest of my life. Whatever happens, today was a gift.
