Just saw a commercial about 12.21.12.

I freak out about this stuff.  What do you think?  Is the world going to end? 

I am wondering if I should take the day off of work...kidding, kinda.

    Nah, I don't think the world is ending. But I would totally use it as an excuse to take off from work!

    No way. If they world was going to end at all, it missed the best time- which of course would have been NYE of 99. Plus it's supposedly going to end at least twice a year for various reasons.

    I don't think the world is going to end, but I think this is a great excuse to take a day off.  DH already has it off as we are heading out of town that day.

    Nope Mayan's didn't take Leap year into account because that came around years later. So, therefore according to the Mayan calendar we're in 2013

    I read somewhere (last year so I have no idea where the link is or I'd back myself up Stick out tongue) that there have already been 2 cycles of the Mayan calender, and that we're simply starting a new cycle.

    The energy of the world supposedly changes. The first was a "masculine" energy, the second, "feminine", and in this cycle, it's a balance of the two.

     Things are supposed to get rocky and crazy as everything adjusts to the new energy, and then even out and be better and more balanced than ever.

    Plus our interpretation of the calendar is based on when a priest said it was a certain year. If you by their recorded lunar events we are good for 200 more years

    Nope, I think we're safe from that. I'd be more concerned about the Super Volcano in Yellowstone (Old Faithful) that's supposed to erupt "soon"...could be thousands more years away!
