Ques for Mama's w/ a singleton...

Hi,

DH & I are 14 weeks pregnant with twins and we have a 20 month old son.  My singleton pregnancy was a breeze and I gained only 30lbs, and no stretch marks ( although my belly was huge).  I'm wondering if I will get stretch marks this time around.  Anyone have an experience with this that is pregnant with twins and had no stretch marks with their singleton pregnancy? Thx!

    It's hard to say, it is all based on your body and I believe genetics. I got stretch marks in the last 2 weeks of my first pregnancy because I blew up like a blow fish....so ofcoarse I added to the bunch with the twin pregnancy. But my stomach is not something I show off ever, not like I used to as a lifeguard!! ;) So I guess I don't care about the stretch marks, the ones on my legs though, I HATE them!! But that is from water weight with my first pregnancy and being on my feet too much.

    I had NO stretch marks from my singleton pregnancy and am sorry to report that at 26 weeks I have stretch marks from these twins that probably started around the 20 week mark in spite of the insane amount of cocoa butter I use everyday :(   My son gave me my c-section scar and I guess these two get to give me stretch marks instead.  I hated my c-section scar initially after my son was born but now 21 months later it's more faded and I have gotten used to it.  I'm sure it will be the same over time with the stretch marks (and the repeat over my c-section scar) but it still doesn't make me feel better now.  I guess this is just the price us Mama's pay for our little munchkins ;)  Keep lathering up and hope for the best!!

    Thanks for the feedback! I know it's a coin toss...was just wondering others experiences.  Love the cocoa butter.  It's hard to believe how big my stomach is, at only 14 weeks!

    I had three without stretch marks and at 35 weeks I have a couple of small marks around my belly button that may be turning into something...I can't tell yet! I'm really hopeful that I'll get thru this without them, but I'm not sure how much more growing is ahead for me. :/

    Same here, gained 29 with DS and so far fine. But I have gained 24lbs already at 21 weeks...so I am doubting I will go unscathed this time.

    37 with DOR...fabulous
    ER 7/14/12 6R 5F, ET 7/17 3 embies, beta #1 7/26: 147, beta #2 7/28: 326, beta#3 7/30: 422...ugh, beta#4 7/31: 607...hopeful, beta #5 8/2: 1280, beta #6 8/7: 7184 and u/s shows 1 possibly 2 sacs! 8/14 2 beautiful heartbeats! 9/24 we are TEAM BLUE!!!!!

    Nope! They're 22m and 25m apart - 5.5, 3.5 and 18m!

    DS1 was 19m when I got pg with my twins and 27m when they were born.  When I was pg with DS1 I also didn't get stretch marks, with my twins I did.  I'm not sure when in my twin pg they showed up, it was pretty early I remember (20 something).  Good luck, I know there are twin moms that don't have stretch marks.

    I didn't have any prior experience but based on my mom and my sister (who were stretch mark free) I hoped for the best....nothing until about 36 weeks and then it was all down hill.....but they do fade and its all worth it if you get huge and keep the babies in as long as possible...I think a lot of it depends how long you go and how big the babies are and genetics and all that other stuff too of course!

    with my first single, I only got stretch marks on my breasts. Nothing with my second singleton.

    With the twins, no stretch marks, but definite "twin skin" after delivery that makes my stomach look like really bad saggy cellulite, even though my tummy is almost as flat as it was pre-twins. I didn't really lather on lotion, only when it felt dry. Oh, and I only carried them to 34w5d but I was measuring almost 42 weeks.

    No stretchmarks for either and I gained about 25 with dd and about 30 with twins.
