Another repeat ? about flat heads...

DD's head seems to be getting a bit flat on the back, probably from all the back sleeping.  I don't know if this will just resolve itself as long as I keep changing positions, or when it's actually cause for concern.  It's not flat on one side or the other, just her head shape overall.  Does it warrant a pedi call, or should it resolve itself as she gets more tummy time and positional changes?  She sleeps semi elevated now in her bassinet at night, and swing for naps, but we are trying to transition her to the crib, and I worry the flat surface sleeping will make it worse.  She hates being on her tummy.

  • Shoot, you're probably right about the swing being too hard.  She sleeps so well in there.  Oh well, further incentive to get the crib sleeping under control...

  • I asked my pedi about this at our 2mo appt since DS has a small flat spot. She said its okay and it'll probably get worse until he's 69mo old but should correct itself after that. I do what I can to rotate his head when I put him down but he moves into whatever position he wants.
