Hi ladies,
Can u help me with these numbers? Tomorrow I will be on stims for a week. Today was my 2nd check and I had 3 folliclesa at 11 and a "bunch" of other little ones. I'm on 2 vials of menapur and 300 units of follistim. My estrogen levels were rising so I am starting my cetroride tonight. Should I have more lead follicles by now, is three ok, is it early yet?

Everyone is different, so it's going to depend on a number of factors. My questions to you are what is your age, diagnosis, and what was your AFC?

I ask, because if you are AMA and/or DOR, it's possible that 3 is a good number for you. I can share my experience, which is posted in more detail on my follie check posts on this board.

My demographics are in my sig, and basically, I have done microdose lupron 2x daily since last Thursday (today is day 11), and tonight will be my 9th doses of stims. I started out on 225 Follistim, then decreased to 150 the last 2 nights, and go down to 75 tonight. I have been and continue to take 3 vials of Menopur until further notice. My AFC was 10, and I currently have 21 follies ranging from 6 to 12mm (17 are 8-12mm).

Last year I stimmed without the lupron and only had 20 measurable follies after 13 days of stims, with 12 eggs retrieved, and it looks like I only had one good embie, since none made it to freeze and I had a singleton, but I got DD from it, so no complaints at all. I am optimistic I'll do better this time with the lupron, based on how things are going so far.

Thanks for the input. I am 31 with DOR, my AMH was .6. I'm not sure of my AFC. I had more follicles with just follistim for my last IUI. I am hoping that being on the cetroride will buy me some time.

My AMH was 2.1, I am 32. I had 2 lead follies and then 12+ on each ovary at my first scan. They upped my follistim from 75 to 225 with one vial of menopur. The second scan it seemed as if some of the other follies were catching up. I think its ok to have 1-3 that are ahead, the nurse said we might "sacrifice" them for the greater good of getting more eggs. The centrotide will keep the large ones from ovulating too soon. My RE did my 2nd scan and said everything was going great...of course I still worry! I had the same thought this cycle that I had more follies on my injectable cycle than this go round. I think they are just slow growing b/c we are hopefully getting more. GL!

When is your next scan?

Hopefully some of your smaller ones will start catching up, like Jeanna's did, especially if you had more during stims for IUI. Do you have any idea how big the next biggest follie is?

Ok I feel better! My next check is tues. the doctor didn't tell me about any other follicles, I also felt like it was a super quick u/s. on Friday the p/a saw 4 at 9 and 1 at 8, so hopefully some of those smaller ones aren't far behind.

That's not bad at all. I told jeanna the same thing I'm about to tell you. If they are that close in size, you should be totally fine. If they were way off in size, say 4mm or more, then I'd be concerned. Based on my (limited) experience, it looks like as long as they are within at least 4mm of the lead at trigger, they should be mature at ER, so it sounds like you'll be just fine!

Seriously, Nawlinsgrl talked me down on Saturday. I was freaking out that we were going to end up with only a few eggs and spending all this money. I want better odds!
