Sex question. Help ladies, please!!

So, in the first trimester having sex presented no issues, but for awhile now in the 2nd trimester..it's been difficult to either have or continue. For instance, it takes a long time for me to 'get wet' and then once we're going at it I dry up easily. Lube hadn't helped too much either because I've found myself burning immensely down there when I do apply it. Another thing, my pelvic muscles seem extra tight and tense, so it's difficult to keep going because I end up swelling easily. This isn't that fun or easy to talk about, but it's really disappointing because I want to be intimate.  Any solutions? Similar issues?

  • Have you tried another brand?

  • Sorry to hear this!  You could try another brand of lube.  It might also help to try for more foreplay.  I have let DH know that I get tired more easily, so we are not "dragging things out" as much as we used to.  This might help too.  I hope things improve for you!

  • I've heard coconut oil or olive oil are good to try. I'd also ask your doctor about the burning.
  • I would definitely try other lubes before you give up on that, and another option might be to pick a small bullet vibrator (the kind with a remote) and use it to stimulate your clitoris during sex to help keep your natural juices flowing so to speak.
  • I developed an allergy to the lube and it took forever to recover from! I am scared to try anything else, and my doctor suggested not using any other creams or lubricants during pregnancy (I had an allergy to two lubes and Monistat and I only used the Monistat because I thought I had a YI, when it turns out I really just had an allergy from the lubes. bleh!). What has helped us is foreplay. Without it, I say don't bother. I also agree that using a little bullett helps.
  • I seemed to have that problem during my first trimenster.  In my second trimester I got my mo-jo back...but now I am having issues with positions (and the growing belly)

Have you tried a water-based lube? I think those are less likely to produce allergic reactions.

It sounds like he needs to put some extra effort into foreplay to help get you relaxed and ready.  I am NOT saying that he has been lacking so far...simply that it might take a little extra effort during your pregnancy :)

  • Cocoanut oil is a safe natural bet, my DH and I use it regularly. It doesn't get sticky and it isn't slimy or to slick and over whelming. It cleans up super easy, tastes good, and you don't have to do anything special for afterward, just normal clean up. You can even put it on you body like lotion with in 3mins of getting out of the shower(only pat dry). Heck you can even cook with it if you want, LOL!

I suggest to extra virgin cold pressed, it was be soild at room temp and will melt as you body temp warms it. Big Smile
  • I Agree with all PP's. Foreplay is a MUST and lots of it. There was a previous post about making the most of it ....quality not quantity..hhaha :) Doesn't need to be hours long, we tire out too easily now and it does get irritated after awhile. Good luck!
  • we used the little vibrating ring... that comes with condoms... you'll have no problem with your mojo after that. :)
