B Agile vs umbrella?

So Im still on the quest for the perfect stroller. I *think* Ive narrowed it down (for now, anyways) to the Chicco Liteway or the Baby Cargo 200. But then I was reading more about the Britax B Agile and it seems pretty good! I know its a different style, and folds differently, but I just need something small that doesn't take up the entire back of my Escape. I like that the B Agile folds one-handed and is light.

Any opinions as to whether I should get one or the other? I just want something lightweight, small (length and width), and easy to maneuvre both in the mall and on the city streets.

(Havent tried the B Agile in person yet)

Re: B Agile vs umbrella?

  • I don`t think there is a comparison. B-Agile hands down. I`d only debate this vs. the City Mini, all definitely better than the others you considered.

  • I love my b agile, it has met my every expectation. It is a little tight in some stores (Gymboree), but I've seen people with umbrella strollers have trouble as well.

  • I have a B Agile and just got an umbrella.  I love my B Agile and use that as my main stroller.  It reclines, has a great canopy and storage, is light and super easy to fold.  It does take up a lot of my trunk space, but it folds pretty flat.  Great in the mall, probably not in the city.

The thing about the umbrella stroller is that you can fold it up and throw it over your shoulder (if it has a strap) if you need to hop on a bus, train, escalator, etc.  Great in the city, ok in the mall.

  • We have a City Mini (same style as the B-Agile) and definitely love it as a travel stroller. It is compact but has great features. I would definitely recommend it over an umbrella style.

  • I love the bagile, but if you are looking for something small and lightweight, I don't think this stroller is for you. An umbrella stroller is a better choice.
