Re: Is this PNP worth it

  • I would get two regular pack n plays. Not the kind with the newborn napper, either.

    Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Graco-Pack-Travel-Playard-Green/dp/B005UV0UEA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353813304&sr=8-1&keywords=graco+pack+n+play

You can put both babies in it to sleep because the bassinet part is huge. One for upstairs in your room and one for downstairs in the family room. Later when you use them for travel, you'll need two so each kid has their own. You can't put two 18 month olds in one Pack N Play, no matter how big it is.

  • I would not spend the $$ on a twin PnP. Like pp said, you'll need two eventually anyway and you can't use the twin bassinet portion very long. The twin Pnp doesn't seem to get great reviews anyway.

We had one with a regular bassinet and a changing table that went up to 25 lbs. Loved it! We also had an Arm's Reach Original Cosleeper in the beginning (which can also be used as a playard) but ended up selling that. We got a second regular PnP for travel.

  • Out of curosity, is a PNP something I should register for? I havn't because I figured I would be able to use it for too long because the weight limits seem to be 25lbs. I did register for a play yard and mat. Don't mean to take over your post, sorry.

  • I'd say definitely no on the twin PNP.  I've heard from almost everyone that bought it that the bassinet sags in the middle and the babies roll inward even when they're very tiny.  Also, the cost....yikes.

As far as a regular PNP goes, we didn't buy one at all, and really haven't ever thought "gee, I wish we had a PNP."

  • We got a regular PNP for our girls. We did use the newborn napper part until they got to a combined weight of 15 pounds. Then, we just used their bouncers for napping.

It sort of sat all abandoned until the girls got mobile. Then, the PNP was my savior because it would contain them for a minute while I had to pee or attend to something immediately! :)

Now, I got all Pinterest like and turned it into a fort, which the girls are totally digging. :)

  • Thanks ladies, I think one regular PNP will do it for us!

    But def 2 RNPs!! lol

I used my PNP all the time with my 2 younger sons (not twins)....they were in it even after they turned 1.  It is a great place to contain them while you try and get something done.  When they were small I used the bassinet feature as my changing table in the family room and then converted it when they were bigger,

  • We keep two PNPs at my ILs, and when the girls sleep there (naps and the rare overnight) they sleep in those. We would have no use for one if it weren't for my ILs living so close.
