Conversion Kits?

I've been reading reviews for various cribs from Babies R Us & have noticed a lot of people saying they were unable to get the conversion kits from the store. Has anyone here had that problem?

Re: Conversion Kits?

  • I would recommend buying a convertible crib that doesn't need a conversion kit. We have the Bily Sidney crib and it like all the other convertible cribs from Sears Canada don't require a conversion kit. You can use the conversion kit if you want but regular metal rails that you can buy for any bed are compatable too.

  • If you buy one, I would get the conversion kit at the same time you buy the crib.  I know people who didn't buy right away and then it was no longer manufactured when they wanted it.  We spent less than 100 bucks at IKEA and got a crib that comes with a toddler bed conversion.  It is a great crib for a great price!

  • I've been wondering about this myself. We purchased our crib from BRU (Baby Cache Montana) and I believe we need a conversion kit to make it into a full size bed. I was telling DH the other day we should look into buying the kit now because otherwise it might not be around when we need it.
