is there anyway to encourage this? Liam just lays on his back and smiles. he has no interest in rolling. lol he rolled side to side more as a newborn but not anymore.
DD hates being on her tummy, so tummy time is the greatest way we encourage it. She has rolled front to back once on her own, so I think it was a fluke. We let her get mad and kick, and then we tuck her arm under her on the side she seems to be favoring for a roll. Then we take her arm and roll her onto her back, let her calm down, and roll her back to her tummy to repeat.
I think other than helping LO with the roll, getting the arm tucked so it doesn't get in the way is the best thing you can do to help. We also put her on her side so she rolls from there.
My kid LOVES TT and I don't think she's ever going to roll over. We do practice, though, rolling her f/b and b/f from both directions. I'm sure some day she'll decide that's fun and try it on her own.

huh. I've never thought about making Lo roll over. Wont' they just do it when they're ready?
They will, but I think people get paranoid when they see posts on here about eveyone's baby rolling over, etc. Connor is the same as OP. He loves playing on his back, but so far shows no interest or effort into rolling over.

I'm not at all stressed that she's not rolling over yet... I more help her do it as a way to interact/ help her hate TT less/ give me something to do while she's on her TT mat...
Aidan is rolling front to back fairly consistently now. We never encouraged it I just think he hates tummy time so much that he figured it out. There is no TT here any more. Only 'rolling over as quickly as possible' time.

My kid hates TT and is showing no signs of rolling over. Instead he just lays there and cries.

This is us too. TT is one minute of quietly lying and then crying. No real head lifting, no attempts to roll.
