So, my OB gave us a bunch of pamphlets and one of them is a "your baby in actual size" dealie with life-size pictures of the baby in the uterus. It starts at 2 months and goes to 9 months. I showed MH what size our nugget is now at 12 weeks and his eyes opened wide and he said "holy-- it's that big already?!?" Yes, dear. That's why I'm so exhausted all the time. It's growing that fast.
So then I show him what size the baby will be when it's born. His eyes went so big that he looked like the Trix rabbit-- you know, whose eyebrows actually leave his head because his eyes are open so wide? MH just looks at me and says, "Holy
@$%&*#!! That as to sit in your belly and then come out your hoo-hoo?!?" Yes, aren't you glad I'm the one having this child? See why I want this child to have my little beanie head and not your huge rectangular block?
He is in total awe, now. And very loving and attentive. And not at all nagging me that I am pretty much spending my days napping and reading on the couch when I'm not working.

Re: MH has a new appreciation of what my body is doing
Don't get me wrong, my DH is a wonderful, thoughtful, caring man. It just hasn't dawned on him yet that I'm not the same person I was pre-preggo> Heck, it sort of hasn't dawned me me yet either- (*see old gray mare post

That is great. I just got a bag of stuff from my OB, wonder if we have something similar.
My DH had no clue either. He is constantly asking "why are you tired" etc.

You should show him a photo of what a person's insides look like without a baby inside them. Then you can ask him, "Where do you think this baby fits among all this tightly-packed essential organ mish-mash? Yeah, I can feel the 1 lb baby kick."
My Ovulation Chart
I read that and I have to say-- total man that his measurements are off. (You know the old joke about why women can't measure anything because they've always been told that 4 inches is 6 inches, nyuk nyuk nyuk.) He goes from a quarter to a marble. From a measuring tape to a hockey puck... Silly man!
