Cheer me up?

Getting ready for work this morning and the dreaded bloat has finally hit me. I can't seem to wear anything without looking like I'm 20 weeks. I'm not exactly skinny anyway, so I got really sad as I'm not ready to share yet. What on earth do I do? :

Re: Cheer me up?

  • Aww, kittie. I have the bloat, too, and it's really uncomfortable!

Try to wear dark clothes. They tend to thin one's figure. Also, vertical lines (such as long seams) should help, too.

I bet you can find something that makes you look nice and feel good about your appearance.

  • You do your best. I'm sorry. As Starshine said, wear some darker clothing. It slims. Do you have a belly band yet? They didn't work for me, but they can make the bloat less uncomfortable with your pants.

  • The bloat is always fun! Go with the darker clothes and the belly band, that should buy you a little more time!

  • I too feel your pain of the "bloat". I too am not a small girl and I can't fit any of my jeans that I wore just weeks ago! I now live in sweats on the weekends, and leggings through the week. I started to miss my jeans and finally broke down and bought a few pair of maternity jeans. which I must say they're pretty comfortible.

  • You're pregnant- enjoy it! Don't listen to the people who say you shouldn't be showing as much as you are, etc. I'm sure you're the only one who can tell you're bloated!
  • Have you tried a rubber band around the button, through the loop and back around the button. Gives you an extra inch to breath!

Don't be too hard on yourself! I know the mix of hormones can make us crazy but you're pregnant and bloat is sooo normal! And like PP said, I bet you're the only one who can tell.

  • I am also feeling super bloated- I use the bella band and I layer sweater wraps over my outfits.  It covers anything I am nervous to show.
