Anyone else not have a schedule...

...and not care?

We just go with the flow each day.  Wake up anywhere between 5am and 8am, take anywhere from 3-6 naps (I couldn't even tell you when) & go to bed between 5pm and 8pm.

I see other people talking about schedules and whatnot.  Does anyone else just wing it every day?

~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

Re: Anyone else not have a schedule...

  • The only schedule I'm on its a pumping schedule and that's no particular time just every 3.5/4 hrs. Otherwise we wing it....he'll maker hiss own schedule

  • We do the same thing. He wakes up any time between 6 and 7am, naps whenever, usually takes a long nap in the afternoon, and goes to bed between 7 and 8pm. We just follow his cues.

  • No schedule here either.  I know she will wake up between 7 and 8 and go to bed between 7 and 8.  Other than that she does what she wants.

  • No real set schedule here either. I won't let him sleep past 8:30am though. That's about it.
  • No schedule here. I kind of like it. I feel like it helps be more flexible. I have a cousin who has to be home by 7 whenever we do something because his kids go BSC after that time if they aren't asleep. Hopefully DD will never be like that.

  • No schedule, he kinda has his own routine, though it is pretty regular.

  • DD has a bedtime routine that she's pretty devoted to (bath between 7:45 and 8:15, then nurses, then to be by 9, 9:15), but our days are all over the place and I'm not fussed. She sleeps when she's tired and eats when she's hungry.

  • No schedule for us either.

  • Nope. LO and I go to sleep anywhere between 12 and 2, sometimes I'm up later, and she has 1 or 2 feedings before being up for the day around 11 to 1 [but she takes naps in the afternoon and evening]. It's all very loose. I can't imagine having her in bed by 7, we're all such night owls.

Finally, someone else's baby goes to sleep as late as mine!  Haha. We don't have a schedule at all, although that might change somewhat when I go back to work on Monday :(

  • No schedule here either. I just read his cues and go with the flow. He is beginning to make his own schedule though.

Everything I've read says daytime schedules aren't a good idea until at least four months. Even then, it's just the morning nap that presents itself. Although DS us three months old and in the last week he has decided he needs a nap at 8:30 every morning.

Then and now. How did my boy get so big?

  • imagemeredithcole:
No set schedule for us, either, I just follow his cues and do things on demand. I figure he will put himself on a schedule eventually, and if not, I'll try to get him on one by the time I eventually go back to work.

This. I'm not working so who cares if I get my days/nights mixed up too.

  • We don't per se. They usually start fussing for a bath around the same time each day but that's about it. With three different people watching then during the week it's hard to have a set schedule. Plus they no longer get up at the sans time at night. Bentley sleeps twice as long as Drake and I let him so nights can be horrible. It's like the nb stage all over again. But they are happier thus way and that is what matters.

Same here. His naps are usually between 1 and 2 hours, so we pretty much stay along the same times. He eats and sleeps on demand.

His bedtime is the same everyday. He is ready for bed at 6:30 every single day, and wakes at 6:30 every morning.

  • We don't have a schedule, as in looking at the clock and do specific things according to the time. We do have a routine and its mostly B dictating.

How old is you cousin's LO?  I'm always home for DS's bedtime.  Toddlers and infants are different.  DS will go into meltdown mode if it's past his bedtime and I don't think he's unique.

They are 2 and 4...but they have always been that way.
