sleep regression

Is anyone else dealing with this? It is no bueno. Between teething, seperation anxiety, his little body developing so much, etc the kid WILL NOT sleep through the night anymore.

He will only stay asleep if he is cuddled against me. Dont get me wrong, I love the extra snuggles, but Mommy needs her space sometimes (and the baby is becoming quite the cockblock this week!).

Re: sleep regression

  • indeed.

my night last night went like this:
    7:15 - nurse baby
    7:30 - put baby down
    7:35 - 3yo bathtime
    8:00 - 3yo stories
8:30 - lie down with 3yo. fall asleep
1:30am - wake to baby crying (in the same room where I'm still sleeping with 3yo)
1:30am - 5:30am - bring baby to my and dh's bed. baby is latched on. I am sleeping on and off.
5:30am - baby is awake. I ask dh to get up with him so I can have 20 minutes of sleeping without a child next to me.

I do love the snuggles with BOTH of them... but my neck is all effed up now and the sleep just isn't quite as good.

I'm not anti-CIO, but with all these teeth coming through, plus his itchy eczema... I'm realllly reluctant to let him cry when there is a good chance he's legitimately uncomfortable. ACK!

  • My son is all over the place, once a week he will sleep from 7 pm to 6 am and other nights he gets up numerous times just for a pat on the back and a pacifier.  A few times he woke up at 4 ready to party!  He goes to sleep every night right about 7 and eats about the same amount of food and formula each day so I don't know why his night time sleep varies so much.  Also sometimes (rarely) he will sleep until 7:30 but he also gets up as early as 6.  Developmentally he is all set, he has conquered walking and has 7 teeth all popped through so who knows???

  • My ds started sttn at 6 wks and then stopped at 5 months. He would get up one to two times per night. Then about a month ago at 10 months his dr said it was ok to introduce cows milk cut with water. Since I'm starting to wean him off the boob I started with a bottle before bed. Well he immediately started sttn. I don't know if its more filling than my milk but its nice to sleep again.
