Our DD was born on Halloween and we are trying to figure out what to do about birth announcements or Christmas cards. WWYD? Should we send out birth announcements now or wait until we finalize, probably early next year sometime. Should we still send out Xmas cards with her pictures? Should we do a birth announcement/Xmas card combo? I'm just not sure what the rules are for this one.
Thanks much and Happy Friday!

Re: Birth announcements/Xmas cards...WWYD
There are no rules. Do what feels right. If TPR is already complete, I'd say go for it, however you want to do it. No one is going to side-eye you for a Christmas card and a separate birth announcement. Most people love that stuff.
We were placed with DD in March. We didn't finalize until October. We sent out announcements in August when it was clear that TPR for her BF was going to proceed without a hitch.
Have fun!
I would do a combo birth announcement and christmas card- stamps are getting expensive :-)
we adopted DS from Korea. Last christmas, we had been matched with him and were waiting to travel to bring him home, We did a christmas card with 2 pics on it- one of dh and I, and then another pic of DS that we had gotten from our agency... and kind of used that as our "we're adopting!" announcement :-) we also put a letter in with it explaining everything. people loved it!
after several m/c, DD#1 born 7-7-08, more m/c and failed IVF, started adoption process March 2011, matched Oct 2, 2012, DD#2 born 10-31-12

We did a combination adoption announcement/Christmas card. Here is the link for the girl who made ours for us :-)

Becca was WONDERFUL to work with, by the way.
Thanks for the link. I like the idea of combining them and I love her designs!

Separately I will send out our family Christmas cards.
I will never combine my children's birthdays with holidays.
