Just an update and quick question

Hi ladies

So I thought I would post an update.  My babies are now three weeks old and seem to be very content (so far).  All they seem to do is sleep, eat and poop. SOmetimes cry in between but not too often.  I feed them every 3.5 hours ( bottle) and they are drinking about 3 ounces every time.

I was wondering at what point did you move them into their cribs?  Also did you put them in the same crib for awhile and then split them up? or did you split them when you moved them from bassinet to crib?   Mine do like eachothers company but I'm curious when they will be crowded.

Thanks

Re: Just an update and quick question

  • We fashioned an arms-reach out of one of the cribs and they slept there until they were about 3 months old. Then we moved them into their own room and separate cribs, and they were fine.

  • SIDS recommendation is separate cribs that are 'naked' (i.e., no bumper, positioner, divider, etc.)

I don't think we are going to go straight to cribs after the hospital but when we do transition to cribs, I plan on using separate cribs on opposite walls... no time with them together in a single crib, I'd be too paranoid.

  • My plan is to have them sleep in separate RNPs at night in my room but to nap in various other places during the day including in the crib in their room. They will be sharing a crib for as long as they can stand sleeping together and are not waking each other up.

However, these are just my plans. They could dictate otherwise when they arrive.

  • They shared a pnp until 4mo when they kept rolling into/all over each other. They shared a crib for one day and then went in to separate cribs.
