Babies: 9 - 12 Months

naps... ;(

ok, so i have prided my self on the fact that it only took about a month of nap training and my guy had it down. He now naps from 830-10 and 1-3 without protest. We lay him down he grabs his paci and lovey and closes his eyes, ALWAYS! We never had any issues at bedtime......well this week it all changed. He has been waking up early from his naps for about the past three days...... This morning he woke after only sleeping 30 minutes. I let him fuss and about 30 minutes later i went in and layed him back down and turned onhis sleep sheep. He layed down and had his eyes closed for maybe 10 minutes...I thought i was home free but he sat back up.... :( I'm thinking several diff scenarios....

#1- he IS getting several teeth right now and that could be the issue

#2 he isnt use to being with so much bc i work and he usually goes to a sitter......

#3 he has been sleeping til 630am, but normally gets up at 6... Could 30 extra minutes be messing with his nap schedule??

Re: naps... ;(

  • 4 He's dropping a nap and/or shortening.

  • I agree with PP. Sounds like he might be ready to drop that nap.

  • If he's under a year, his awake time is just increasing.  Try keeping him up a little longer before the nap(s).  If you can avoid it, don't move to one nap for a couple more months.  It'll be a smoother transition.

That extra 30 mins of sleep until 6:30am will push the first nap time a little later.
