Took him to the doc today to get him "looked at" to shut up my family that he is not in fact jaundice but just a yellower white than me and DD. Doc looked at him and was impressed by his head control and he rolled over for her belly to back but couldn't tell if he is just yellow or jaundice so off for blood work because of my family history. Took 3 people and 2 sticks to get the blood they need for the 4 test ordered. So now my baby boy arms ,yes arms one stick each, are bruising and he can't get comfy enough to sleep again. This is what its going to be like next week while his little thingy heals isn't. Oh the tears and screams. I am going to be a mess.
Re: my poor boy...
(((((hugs)))))
Couldn't they do a heal stick? DS was tested for jaundice many times in the hospital, and they did heal sticks
Granted, those were painful for him, too.. but I can't imagine sticking a needle and drawing blood is easier!
(((big hugs))) Momma.. it's SO hard when we see our little ones hurting.. hoping his circ goes smoothly for you next week!
M/C Nov 9, 2011 at 11 weeks.... We love you & miss you
My son had bad jaundice for his first week of life, and when we came in for labs, they did heel sticks - I couldn't even go in with him, I chickened out, and had my husband take him. But just hearing him cry in the waiting room was enough to bring tears to my eyes. I'm going to be wreak during his vaccinations
Hugs to both of you for enduring all that bloodwork! And hope he doesn't have jaundice, and all that labwork reveals absolute normal levels all around
