Daddy diaper bags?

I want to get DH a Christmas gift that is related to the baby. I was googling for ideas and found this daddy diaper bag. There are tons of different colors - I am thinking a camouflage one. Do you think dads actually use these though? I am trying to think of when he would have the baby alone. Once in awhile I am sure but not often. Probably if he goes to his mom's and I find an excuse not to go, LOL. Do you think it is a good gift or should I just get some kind of daddy book?

  • We have a diaper dude and love it. DH carries it all the time and I've swapped mine out and use his most of the time. I think the one we have is the messenger deluxe (?) but it's similar to what you are showing just a little bigger.

  • My husband carries the Skip Hop messenger bag in green.  He's not much of a camouflage guy.  But certainly daddies need a bag, one way or the other!

  • I bought MH one of these for fathers day.  He has already used it a couple of times, and our little guy has only been on the outside for a couple of weeks.  I love that he has his own bag.  And I have the Skip Hop Studio, so his will be much more utilizational once our baby is bigger for park and zoo trips, etc.

  • DH had no interest in me spending money on a special daddy diaper bag.  He just used the free one from the hospital(black, messenger style).
  • I think they are a good idea.  We got just a plain brown bag from Target, I think its an Eddie Bauer diaper bag.  Having a bag that dad feels ok carrying also helps make the case if you wanted to get a cute diaper bag for yourself (ie, when I bought myself a Coach diaper bag)!

  • I guess I am in the minority but I could never be bothered to keep 2 diaper bags stocked.  We've always used a black one that either one of us could carry.

  • I registered for two bags, one of them was this bag.  It's not at all girly, so DH can carry it. The one I want is a Kalencom Weekender that is huge and much cuter. ;)

  • my husband wanted a Diaper Dude messenger style bag.  We got it as a shower gift and he's pretty excited about it.

  • My husband registered for a Eddie Bauer backpack diaper bag. LO is due today so we have not had a chance to use it but I know DH would not want to use my diaper bag even if it was solid black.
For some of DH's friends, they could care less about the diaper bag and tote around the animal print/ pink bags. I guess it depends on what type of guy your husband is.
  • My husband uses a small backpack that we had gotten for a trip to Italy. He would much rather carry the backpack than any other type of bag, even if it looked "manly." I recommend a backpack!!
