c-section mommas

Any other ladies have an unsightly pouch left from their c-section. My OB did a wonderful job with delivering Kevin I was up and gertting around that night. When I went home I was up and down stairs, no problems what-so-ever. When we had my consultation about the c-section(Kevin was breech and my c/s was planned a week out) he told me that the incision would be in a place that would be like a 'natural fold'. Well I never had a natural fold there and now it has messed up my natural fold positions and my lower belly just looks weird. I am about 5 lbs away from PP weight but there is no chance my belly will look the same, which I am totally OK with(Kevin is worth the weird looking belly) Anyone else? Or does your belly look just the same with the exception of your scar.

  • I have it too. I feel like the scar there makes it tighter, causing the belly above it to fold over (if you get what I mean). I hate it. It bounces when I try to work out, so I don't like working out. I need to get a tight shirt to hold it down or something- but it would have to be SO long to reach the right spot.

  • Don't hate me...but I don't know what y'all are talking about. I am not skinny, but it's flat where my scar is. My scar has actually faded really well. Now if I could just get rid of the fat ABOVE the scar!

  • I have a fold above my scar that I never had before. I was never stick thin, but I didn't have folds, and now it's like my scar created one that I can't get rid of. I am below pre-pregnancy weight and it has totally messed up my stomach. I can't get rid of it. :(

  • I have it too and it's awful. Nothing fits right because of it.

  • I did have this - but I'm now 12 pounds under my pp weight (please don't hate! I actually think I don't eat enough while I'm nursing). My scar area is pretty flat now (just a little baggy above) - but I think that's normal to have.

  • Yup, I have all this hangy, pounchy grossness right above my scar which is almost recessed in :(    My scar is also off-center ( she was stuck and they had to lengthen one side to get her out), so my pooch is assymetrical. I hate it, it makes it super hard to find jeans that fit.

  • I have had three c-sections ( one scar) and it is flat. My stomach does have its normal pooch about 2 inches above but it's not caused by the scar. The pooch goes away when I lose weight.

  • My OB told me to massage the scar area as soon as I was comfortable doing it. She said that prevents scar tissue from forming a ridge. I have done this and mine is flat. I am also quite a bit under pp weight right now, so not sure if that helps....

Everyone I know that had a section has this.  I do.

This for me too.  I have had 2 c/s.  With the first it took about 1 1/2 - 2 years before it got noticeably less.  I am now about 16lbs below my PP weight and still have a super giggly flap.
