How much breastmilk?

How much will/did you LO take from a bottle at 1 month? Charlie will only take 1-2oz. That seems like so little. The pedi said she would guess she's taking more than that from the breast since she's gained 2.5lbs since birth. How do I convince her to take it?

By one month, most babies will level out at 1930 ounces a day. For a feeding, divide that by avg number of feedings per day Ie 24 oz/day, feeding 8 times a day would be 3oz/bottle, 12 times a day is 2oz/bottle. My lo took 3oz per bottle at that age. Maybe lo is just taking the edge off hunger and waiting to eat more from the source?

I use this method, too, on the occasion that DD takes a bottle. It seems like I have a compulsion to fill the bottle, but she really doesn't always need that much!

Ella took a little over 2 oz, like 65mL at one month. Between week 5 and 6 she increased to about 3 oz, and for last two days, she's taken anywhere from 2 to an astounding 4 oz! I think she's trying to regulate.

Thanks ladies! I was just getting worried that when DH fed her she was not getting enough. I feel much better.

It took DS a little while to get the hang of bottles. We used to start with one oz becuase I hated wasting BM if he didn't finish. Eventaually he worked up to 2.5 oz and kind of stayed there until 9 or 10 weeks. Over the last few weeks he has gone up to 4oz per bottle.
