Girl names...

I am looking for ideas for girl names. We had Adria picked out from last pregnancy and I kind of like Lia or Leah. Suggestions?

  • We unwittingly did two names that end in "uh" but I like that there it provides some connection between the two names without being "matchy" which I am not a fan of. So the Adria and Lia combo sounds good to me! :) I like either spelling, and I've had both as a teacher and had no trouble knowing how to pronounce them either. I am more traditional so I like Leah. Lia seems more cutesy to me, Leah seems older maybe? That's all I've got. HTH!

You might want to be cautious on that board - those ladies are not about sugar coating or thinking of your feelings even if you say you love a name!

I like Leah - what about Hannah or Layla?

Agreed, they can be ruthless, but helpful too. When I was debating giving both of my boys the same middle name (DH's name, Throrin) they were really helpful. You just have to have a thick skin.

My favorite girls names right now are Violet and Daisy. We get SO many complements on DD's name (Ruby).

There are a TON of baby name generating web sites out there, and the social security web site is a fun place to look up the history of how popular names have been in the past.

  • Our girls names are Emma and Hailee.  Their middle names are Mary and Amalia, after family members.  We also talked about Hannah and Charlotte.
