Pregnant after 35

Got a small ray of hope today!

Last Friday at my 1st u/s at 6wks 5dys saw no fetal pole or hb.  Today u/s showed both!  Dr's concern now is that the fetal pole is measuring a full week behind and hb was 77, which is low.  I go back in one week, trying to stay positive for my LO!  Dr said all I can do is wait, only time will tell if this LO is gonna stick.

Anyone else have a similar situation?  What was the outcome?  Trying to stay optimistic!

  • Thank you so much for sharing!!!   I stressed big time from friday until today, so hoping if I'm positive and optimistic until next weds then the baby will feel it and it will reflect in the u/s!!

  • So glad to hear that there is a fetal pole and heartbeat! I don't have any experience to share but I am sending positive vibes your way! Hope the next u/s shows further growth and development!

  • I hope everything goes well at your next appointment!  My first u/s was at 6w 6d and the tech said things were measuring closer to 6 weeks.  We did see a heartbeat.   I'm worried about things measuring behind as I'm confident in my dates and have had 2prior losses.  Just trying to take it one day at a time until my next u/s on Tuesday.

  • My dr said having a fetal heartbeat is a very good sign. Sometimes dates can be off, particularly if you have longer cycles.

  • Heart beat is most important do not worry about measurements yet.  Stay positive and do not stress out (I know easier said than done)  Keep your self stress free as much as you can.   Time will tell.
