Fighting back tears

So, you all know DH is gone this Turkey Day. I talked to him last night and he said he will try to call as much as he can today. I just put the turkey in the oven, and I'm in my bedroom relaxing. I can hear my kiddo's playing and my baby cooing in the other room. I feel terrible for them, I miss my DH, I have no family here, and I'm just plain sad. The only thing that holds me back from crying bc DH is not here, is them. Just needed to vent. Thanks Ladies.

    :(  That stinks that your DH isn't able to be there this year.  Hugs!  Kudos to you for keeping the tears at bay for the kiddos.  The good news is, the kids will probably have a blast anyway, and here's hoping your DH will be able to be home for Thanksgiving next year!

    Sorry to hear its just you and the kids. I'm sure I would feel the same way if it was me. Just remember its the time to be thankful. He may not be home for thanksgiving but it sounds like everyone is safe and healthy : happy thanksgiving to your family. Hopefully you can look forward to him being home for Christmas

    I'm sorry he isn't there with you :(  Do you have friends there that you are going to spend the day with?  We are military too so I definitely understand how you feel.  Many hugs!!!

    We don't really know anyone anymore. They all moved away!

    I'm really sorry that you are alone for Thanksgiving. Hugs to you, and kudos for staying strong. Try to enjoy it the best you can with your small blessings that you have there with you.

    Thanks everyone for the kind words. I was able to talk to DH twice today and he said he may even be home next week. I can't wait.
