Boppy on a plane??

DD and I are heading on a 2 hour flight tomorrow.  I plan on BFing on the plane and of course at our destination.  I still use the boppy for feedings just becuase it is easy and more comfy but not a necessity by any means.  I can't decide if I should take it with me as a carry on?  I'm assuming I won't have room on the plane to use it anyways but i have no idea.  Has anyone taken/not taken it on a flight and regretted either? Or if you haven't do you think I should? Better to have it and not use it then need it? Ugh.

Oh and DH will not be with us so i'll be responsible for lugging all our items around.

  • I traveled and breastfed without it....you can use something else like a blanket to prop under your arm...or when you get to your destination use a pillow

  • Good point. Thanks!

Hoping I get a nice "seat buddy" who doesn't mind me nursing DD!

  • We did yesterday. My back hurt enough nursing in a tiny plane seat; it would have been worse without the boppy...boppy was the least of our problems getting through the airport since it easily wrapped around the carry on our my shoulder. Worked for us!

  • Personally if you can fit it, I would take it with you. The seats are not comfortable when holding a baby, so a little extra pillow will help both of you stay comfortable. Good luck with your flight.

  • I would not bring it. I have flown quite a bit with S and it would be a pita to have it. That being said I haven't used my boppy in almost 4 months!

  • we have the travel boppy and it was so nice to not have to hold him but to rest my arm over him instead when he slept

since you are used to it I'd bring it!

  • I used mine on two 4.5 hour flights and it was great. DD slept almost the whole time so I appreciated being able to be hands free.

  • If you aren't flying first class, you probably won't have room for it. Most airlines will give you a pillow (to put in your lap) if you ask the flight attendant, though.
