Is anyone giving their LO juice yet?? I keep meaning to ask about this at our Dr. appts but I forget. I haven't yet but was wondering when it's okay to give LO juice?
My 2 year old doesn't get juice regularly at all (MAYBE once a month). It's not a necessary food, for sure. So it's definitely not something you HAVE to do if you don't want.
See that?s what I was thinking but a coworker has been giving her LO (younger then C) juice already. I'm not really comfortable with it but I thought maybe I was being a little too over protective about it. Good to know I?m not the only one who thinks juice isn?t needed at this point.
I don't plan on giving juice ever either. If she wants Apple Juice, eat an apple. I never really had it as a kid and that was fine for me. Actually, I think it's too sweet. All DD will ever get is water and milk when the time comes.
I did not give DS1 juice until he was probably 18mo, and usually only when he was constipated. He's now almost 3 and barely gets it once or twice a week. We heavily water it down (seriously, it's mostly water with a splash of juice and he loves it). No need to give your baby juice yet, breastmilk or formula is the best drink for now. You can give some water if LO's poops are too hard, but it's not really needed.

I'm not against juice, but I wont be giving it anytime soon. The jars of juice at the store say 6 months...so I'm assuming is ok to give it if you want.
Our pedi mentioned at our 6 mo appointment that it was ok to start juice but that it wasn't necessary. The only thing I've tried is apple cider so far, our local orchard makes a pasturized kind with nothing added (apples are the only ingredient and it's soooo delicious). I put like 1/4 cider to 3/4 water and gave LO a sip, he made the most screwed up face and wouldn't try anymore lol. Not complaining though, I don't see why it's necessary.
I have been giving LO watered down juice since he was 5 months old... He usually gets it with his meals... Otherwise during the day he gets water......
