Have any of you heard of the Flat Stanley project? There's a website if you're curious... We were sent home this project from G's daycare yesterday. We were given a flat paper doll, and some info sheets. Apparently the idea of the project is to send the "Flat stanley" paper doll to family or friends in other countries or regions, have them decorate the doll according to their customs, fill out some a sheet about what you did with the doll, and maybe even take a picture somewhere cool with the doll. I literally have no family or friends in other countries or regions except for you girls. Does anyone want to do me a giant favor? It'll sorta be like Blu's Thong, except not nearly as cool haha. I would reward anyone who offers to help me out! FTR we live in PA so I'd be looking for a volunteer preferably from another country, or at least not in the northeast US.
P.S. I think the project is cool in general, but kind of wasted on a one year old. Still, I don't want to be a total slacker mom.
P.P.S. We are traveling tonight, but I'll respond later if I have any takers!
Re: Flat Stanley global literacy project - anyone want to help?
Our friends in Germany sent us their son, "Flat Ben" and we have had him for over a year! It wasn't a school project but their son wanted to visit us in the States. Since they couldn't afford to come out here, they sent us Flat Ben and we take him places. Sometimes he is with us and sometimes with SO's cousin and her kids. He has been to the hospital when we had our babies, pumpkin patch, "helped" with the house remodel, birthday parties, etc! For him, we just post the pics on FB and tag them and his mom shows him....he loves "being in the States!"
