Babies: 9 - 12 Months

My Size vs. My Ride

We're planning on switching our son to a convertible car seat in the next couple of weeks (he'll be 9 mo on Tuesday).

We need to buy 3 seats, one of each of our cars, and one for his babysitter, because he rides with her a lot. Because of this, we've decided that our budget is under $200 per seat.

The two we've found that we like best at this price are the Graco My Ride 70, or My Size 70. Anyone have experience with these seats? Would you recommend them?

Any other seats under $200 that you would recommend more?

  • I don't know anything about the seats you mentioned, but we have the Evenflo Symphony 65 e3, its about $175. We love it.

  • We got the Evenflo Tribute DLX's for H's car because they're not in there very often. $60 for the seat, but we got them at BRU for 20% off. It definitely has less padding then the next price range of seats but they seem comfy in them. For my car we got the Safety First Complete Air 65 seats, which are around $175. Those have a lot of padding and I'm really happy with those, but they're very bulky and would never fit in H's car (an Accord).

  • We have a mysize and the straps are heinous to adjust. There is no way to get the thing tight. We also have a marathon, which is over your budget (although if you shop around you might get some deals), but the britax roundabout which is similar is a great seat too, I wish we had gone with that or another marathon. The mysize is horrible.

  • We have the my size 70 and we LOVE it.  We also have a britax and we both prefer the mysize.  I would go for it over the my ride as it will rear face longer.  Otherwise they are similar and you really can't go wrong with either one.

You should return it. A lot of people are having problems tightening the harness on this seat.

  • At this time I would not suggest the MySize 70 or Size 4 Me 70 (they are the same seat). I have had 3 of these seat, and all 3 had harness issues. Graco is currently working on resolving this issue, but I wouldn't buy one until the issue had been resolved. At this time, it has not.
