I take my DS out pretty much every day unless he sleeps during the nice part of the day. We usually go to Barnes and Noble, or to the store. The store visits are nice because we're always moving, but even there there's almost always one mom walking through with her kid(s) who "Awwws" at my son, then get's this tired look and says "this is what you have to look forward to." Yes, I can understand being tired, but why put a damper on my day?
On top of this, I guess I'm a little young looking and I have shirts with game logos and other nerdy things on them (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Squall-Rinoa-T-Shirt-Final-Fantasy-Video-Game-Shirt-/180435245241?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a02c758b9). I'm not sure if I'm reading into it too much, but a lot of the times it feels like the women over at Barnes and Noble think I'm too young, or too immature to be a mom. Someone asked me if I was a babysitter once... I honestly didn't think I looked that young, so it's probably my wardrobe and interests. Heh.
On a similar note, anyone change their wardrobe after becoming a mom? I can't quite justify it for now having a neice and nephew who need to get spoiled for christmas, but I'm seriously considering it for the new year.
Re: I'm getting a little sick of the negativity during outings...
SCANDAL!
I also have nicer clothes, my boots and heels for when I go out.
Same story here! 30 yrs old and wearing printed T's with jeans and my favorite Diesel sneakers. I agree 100% with all of this

I hate the negativity when out and about too! I was at the grocery store when DD was about 2 weeks old ( because I needed groceries and DH works, not that I need to justify it!) some old lady walked up stuck her head practically in the car seat and said awww how dear is she! How old is she? I replied 2 weeks old today! The woman gives me this horrified look and says oh my! When my kids were young we never took them out so young! I smiled at her put my hands firmly on the cart handle to keep from smacking her up side the head and said... well the only real risk for her is that she may get sick if people stick their face in hers and breath their germs on her! and I just walked away!
I also look very young for my age and I remember all the looks I got when I was pregnant! Of course by August I was to lazy to put any makeup on or do anything to look presentable. So I'm sure that made me look even younger. I always felt like I was getting the awww look at that young pregnant girl look! Seriously people mind your business!
Dress how you want and be glad you look young. It is a problem most women would like to have, I would think.
I have the same problem, BTW- I look much younger than 37. At the library where I work people assume I am a student and often ask to speak to "the person in charge"- which is me. It was much worse when I had DD1- I was 25 and looked about 16 at most. I used to get PLENTY of commentary from snarky older women.
