dark trim/molding

I am working on nursery ideas and I have always wanted white furniture, regardless of the sex.  I just think it looks cleaner.  However, DH pointed out that all of the molding in our house is a dark walnut wood.  Will the white look bad with the dark trim or does it not matter?  I can't picture it and can't find any pics online where it is done this way and I am thinking maybe it's because it looks bad so no one does it! Should I just switch to a darker finish furniture?

Re: dark trim/molding

  • You can paint the molding white, can't you?

  • I think it will look fine.  We have just the opposite, dark wood furniture & white trim.  I think trying to "match" the dark trim would look like you tried but just didn't make it.
