I feel ya! It took a few weeks to get used to the idea of twins myself but I cannot believe how many times people have said my condolences to me! I cannot wait for the comments once the twins arrive.

I think people just don't know what to say, and think they're sounding really sympathetic when they are actually being super rude. I actually had someone say to me (when I was pregnant) "oh, maybe you'll lose one." True story.

You are a far better person than me if you didn't rip them a new a$$hole. How awful!
When I told my family we were having twins my cousin called me cackling and said, "Good luck with that!" Some people are just jerks.

The other day I was talking to this woman I didn't know at a party and when she heard it was twins she made this horrified face and said "yikes!", then, still with the nasty face, said, "I hope you at least have help?!".

That is annoying. People really can't win though. I was annoyed by all the, "Ahhhh, so exciting, TWINS!!!! What a huge blessing. God must know that you can handle two babies at one. Blah, blah, blah." It made me feel badly that I had emotions other than excitement.
Fwiw, twins really are a blessing. It just took me awhile to see it .
We get those kinds of comments all the time. Last week we took them on vacation and I was amazed by the number of people who had negative things to say. "There is no resting for you", "Man, I feel sorry for you", etc. My all time favorite occured on the plane when a random gentleman seated behind us asked if they were twins. I replied that they were. He responded, "you must have had fertility problems. that explains it." My DH said I stared at him with my mouth open for a solid minute. I then turned around and sat down. Really, what is wrong with people?
U/S#1 showed 2 heartbeats!
U/S#2 showed Baby A's heartbeat was 157 and Baby B 's heartbeat was 183!
U/S#4 showed Baby A is a Boy (heartbeat 161) and Baby B is a Girl (heartbeat 159)!!

The other one I can't stand is....oh you are going to have YOUR hands full. Yes, I am having twins. And yes, my son will be just shy of a year when they are born. I promise, we will be just fine.
I have come to the conclusion that having twins brings out the stupidity in other people. The worst I've encountered so far is a stranger explaining that Clayton is the evil twin because he wasn't smiling like Jackson was. And since Clayton is the evil twin, he will grow a goatee and try to take over the world. Thanks idiot for calling my 9 month old baby evil.

Ya know, it's ok, because they really just do not understand what it is like to have twins. And some folks just have a problem hiding thier stupid.
omg. worst comment ever! I'd freak out on someone that said that to me. especially when I was pregnant and totally irrational.
