Pregnant after 35

f/u to bad ultrasound

So I went for another u/s today and this time they were able to see a sac high up inside my uterus. Based on the size of the sac, they are putting me at 6 weeks instead of 7.5. Unfortunately there was nothing inside the sac (no hb or anything). My beta came back at 10,000 but my progesterone dropped from 25 to 9. OB wants me to go on progesterone supplements and repeat the u/s in a week and a half.

Is there any hope for this pregnancy?

  • Its hard to say what is going on unfortunately and only time will tell.  If you are off on your dates and really only 6 weeks then not seeing a heartbeat is normal.  The progesterone dropping is not a good sign but its good you are going on supps. Being in limbo sucks and I'm sorry you are going through this.  I hope you get better news next u/s.

  • I don't know what it means, but I have read that progesterone supps can be helpful in such situations. I hope they work well for you and that you will be able to report some good news after your next u/s. Good luck to you.

  • I too am in the same situation with my f/u tomorrow, praying for a hb and fetal pole.  I think Shellbear+ puts it best "being in limbo sucks". Good luck to you!
  • I hope everything is ok and the progesterone does the trick.  I'm in my own weird limbo right now waiting for my next u/s in a week.  At my first u/s, baby was measuring a bit behind where I thought I should be and I'm pretty certain of my dates.  Waiting is the worst!

  • I've been where you are.  If you're really only 6 weeks along, there's definitely still hope.  I'm assuming they're doing a vaginal ultrasound.    I know how hard this is.  Limbo is the worst.  I hope you get good news at your next u/s.
