pnp sleepers?

Anyone else still have a lo who sleeps in the pnp? Ds is still in our room at night. I am not sure how to cut the cord and break the habit. He naps in his room in the crib but for some reason we can't let go yet and have him sleep in the pnp on our room. I am not even sure if we have tried to have him in his room yet. I hope we are not creating a monster! He still wakes up in the night so I feel like I need to be close to soothe him back asleep. We need to get on this soon or we will have 2 lo's in our room. Anyone else still sharing a room?

Re: pnp sleepers?

  • Still sharing! We only have one bedroom, so until we move (hopefully soon) he's stuck with us.  I don't mind, and I don't think DH does either.

  • We never shared a room in this house but he's right across the hall. We don't even use a monitor.

As for the pnp, I didn't want to have to lean all the way to the bottom, and he has long surpassed the weight limit for the bassinet attachment. He doesn't even nap in there anymore. We use it as a changing table for downstairs. Once he crawls, we'll start to use the playpen feature.

  • Our DD still sleeps in our room. My Dh travels a lot and I just don't think I'm ready yet. If we decide to move her, it's going to be me who's going to have to suck it up and do it. When I think about it, I get so sad. Maybe when she's 9 months. Maybe.

  • Still sharing. We tried the crib for about 2 weeks but she got sick and I never bothered again. We bed share and I just can't move her yet. Plus she doesn't STTN so it's easier to get her back to sleep being right there.

  • we are in a 2/2 condo. DS2 was with us until he was 15-16 months. In the pnp for about 3 months then we set his crib up in the room.  We moved him before DS3 was born and he and DD1 share a room now.  DS3 is still in his pnp (the CHicco ROCKS...so much better than the Graco we had before...better mattress/more support) but was just telling DH that I think it is time we set up his crib in our room so he sleeps on a good mattress.  We are house hunting so the reason he is still with us is because we don't want to put 3 kids in one room! Plus I TOTALLY understand you and not wanting to let go....I was like that with DS2....and he was not the type of baby that would see us in bed and whine/cry to come to bed with us. The boy LOVES his sleep. He transitioned fine when we moved him too.  Now this LO, DS3 we will keep with us until we move...hopefully we find something soon! PS I love having him near me :)

  • I just starting putting DD in  her own room/crib last week!  My DH got a different job and he has to go bed earlier and gets up at 3am, so her being in our room was going to be difficult.  I will be honest the first few nights were hard, but since then it has been better.  She goes down at 9pm, then wakes up at about midnight, I soothe her back to sleep and last night she slept till 6am!  Woo Hoo.  I will not lie....I have slept in her floor a few nights just so when she woke up I would be closer to her and get her back to sleep before she starting screaming. One thing I did buy and it helped her alot was this little butterfly that plays music and then projects stars and moon on the ceiling so when we she did wake up I would play that and it seemed to help put her back to sleep.  Good Luck!!
