Lol. I feel like I have to update you all now since I started talking about them. Also, where else can I go to complain about this stuff?
Anyhoo, DS will be getting tubes. He is on antibiotic number 4 since late September for these ear infections. Easy-peasy right? Wrong! Because of his brain abnormalities and lack of one kidney, they want to do this 5 minute procedure at the children's hospital instead of in their (very close to my house) surgery center. So now we get to make a whole day of it and spend more money. Yay!(<--Sarcasm.)
Here are some shots of your choice for caring about us. Cheers!

Re: Anyone still care about my kid's ears?
Aw poor Ian - I am so sorry the antibiotics aren't working for him. But I am so glad you are able to get him tubes. I know I've said it before, but I FREAKIN' LOVE TUBES. I should probably stop proclaiming my love for them now before you start thinking I'm weird or something. Or is it too late for that? Oh well.
I'm really sorry about the whole hospital thing.
But think of it that way - If you add up all the time (and money) you WON'T be spending at the Dr's office for those dang ear infections, you're probably still saving even if you have to have the surgery done at the Children's hospital.
Have you scheduled a date for surgery yet?

You are right, mama. It will be worth it in the end. But why does everything have to be so freakin' difficult? Can't we please just do something easy for once? (Pity party: table for one)
The anesthesiologist from the surgery center has to consult with the kidney doctor at the children's hospital before they will schedule the surgery. It is tentatively scheduled for next Thursday on the off chance that they can come up with a plan for us to just get it done at the surgery center. Otherwise, we will be put on the list at the hospital and wait for a call from their scheduling people. And of course it has to be a holiday week which will undoubtedly make these calls take longer.
That stinks - I hope they are able to schedule it without too much hassle/waiting on your part.
I will also have a Grey Goose shot - that sounds amazing right now.
I wish you guys could catch a break...believe me, I know how that feels. When I worked at the daycare I had a lot of kiddos get tubes, and they always had way fewer ear infections afterwards. Hang in there!

He is on the surgery center schedule for next Thursday. We haven't heard back on when it would be if it has to be at the hospital. The lady seems to be working pretty hard on seeing if we can just do it at the surgery center.
