motorola vs summer infant video montior

I'm pretty sure we're going to purchase a new video monitor.  With DD we've been using the old version of the summer infant sleek and secure, but the only place to buy an extra camera is from the manufacturer, and you can't view more than one camera at a time.

So we are debating a motorola camera vs the newer summer infant model.  Does anyone have any input they can offer?

Re: motorola vs summer infant video montior

  • I have the 3.5 inch Motorola and have no complaints.  I really really like it and we have the second camera already and it works great.  We are in a nanny share so the nanny uses it when 2 of the kids nap at the same time.  It switches between each camera every 8 or 10 seconds automatically and then you can tell it to just stay on camera if you want it to.  Super easy.

  • I have gone through 3 summer infant monitors and 2 extra cameras... and my oldest is only 16 months.

I finally got fed up and bought the motorola with a second camera. I was really scared to spend the money on another set.. but I LOVE it. The best monitor I've ever used. No issues, no complaints. Wish I would have bought it sooner.

  • There are tons of reviews on amazon and the consensus seems to be the Motorola. There are a lot of reviews on the Motorola from those previously owning the summer infant

  • I love our Motorola for all the reasons others have mentioned and more. It's very clear and we've never had any incidences of it picking up other monitors in the neighborhood as I've heard a lot of people complain with other monitors. My neighbor and I actually have the same one and we bring our receivers back and forth to each other's houses and the signal stays strong and clear. I'd definitely recommend it.

  • I can't compare but we have used our summer baby touch with 2 cameras for 8 mos and are very happy with it.
