Solids? Can LO Ike them too much?

Does anyone's LO like solids too much? What is allowed amount wise?  We started LO on some pur?ed sweet potato and three days in a row just a tad on a spoon. Last night she took the spoon and fed the whole spoon. Today she did the same and cried for more. I'm not sure but I don't think LO should have this much? She's been very interested in food for about three weeks and that's why we wanted to just see what her interest was. Obviously she's very interested but I do not want her to eat too much and not get enough bM. Food before one is to be fun right?

  • At this age I believe 1-4 Tablespoons per day isthe  recommendation. Keep an eye out for constipation as their systes gets used to working  foods through. Probiotics, pears and prunes can keep things moving.

  • She ate a baby spoon size amount? That's totally fine.  It's probably like, a teaspoon :)  Unless her stomach is getting upset/she's constipated or she's cutting back on her breastmilk intake, she's fine to eat what she wants.

  • A few tablespoons is okay, so just one baby spoonful isn't close to that. Let LO eat, unless like PP said, they start cutting down on their BM intake.

  • LO is getting about 2 tbsp 2x a day. I follow her cues. I nurse her before giving solids and she still eats "a lot". She licks her baby for leftover food, it is sooo cute!

  • DS gets 4 T of cereal a day, and has recently started getting about 1 T of veggies as well. He is still drinking the same amount of breastmilk also. He loves eating his food.
